Syntax #

p.title.toc-preface

Purpose #

The p.title.toc-preface annotation is used to tag an element as being the title of preface content within a document. A preface element exists in the bookmap’s metadata and contains a reference to the associated DITA file. Content tagged as a preface will be located within the frontmatter section of a bookmap.

This annotation should be applied to the heading of the section where you wish to begin a preface. It will contain all following content until the next frontmatter notice, part, chapter, appendix, or backmatter element is created. Any content tagged as a preface will appear before frontmatter notices.

This annotation is not applied to the table of contents entry.

Example #
