Syntax #

p.title.toc-part

Purpose #

The p.title.toc-part annotation is used to tag an element as being the start of a larger grouping of content within a book’s structure. A part element exists in the bookmap’s metadata and contains one or more chapters. This allows chapters to be divided into related groups within the bookmap’s structure.

This annotation should be applied to the heading of the section where you wish to begin a part. It will contain all following content until the next part, appendix, or backmatter element is created. This annotation overrides a chapter element, and so should be applied before an annotation that creates a chapter element.

This annotation is not applied to the table of contents entry.
